Yes, problems on the remote end; mainly part of a filesystem being eaten.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm fairly certain that luck had a lot to do with it. :D

a spider ate my subject...

I was just about to photograph this bee while it was hovering when the spider emerged from behind the flower and attacked. It caught the bee in mid-air. The spider's venom worked quickly, immobilizing the bee almost instantly. http://www.digivill.net/~mowse/photography/stock/backyard-060530-01.jpg 2...

curious wasp

I can't remember the last time that i reached my daily image quota :D . Right after i snapped this shot, this wasp (pompilidea?) flew right onto the tip of my lens and stared at me before buzzing off. http://www.digivill.net/~mowse/photography/stock/backyard-052906-03.jpg 20D, 50mm f/1.4, 36mm tube

perched on a torch

just another shot taken while sitting in the grass. it looked as though this tiny beetle was perched on a torch. correctly exposing both the black chiton and the bright yellow flower was somewhat challenging. http://www.digivill.net/~mowse/photography/stock/backyard-052906-01.jpg 20D, 50mm f/1.4, 36...

tiny spider

I took my oldest daughter out today, to pick some wildflowers, and brought along my 50mm f/1.4 & 36mm tube. While sitting in the grass, I noticed this little spider building a web. It was, perhaps, about 2 or 3mm in length, and wouldn't hold still; fairly challenging for having the wrong equipment h...

eyes outnumber stomach

Well, it has been quite a while since i've had time to do some macro work. Though, this evening I went to the front yard to meet the UPS guy, who was delivering my new 50mm f/1.4. I had my 20D in hand, and a 20mm tube in my pocket. On the way back to the porch, I just happened upon this scene. So, t...

quick snack

Sorry, haven't been posting much lately. The weather here in the seattle area has been less than cooperative. I caught a little bit of sunshine this evening. http://www.digivill.net/~mowse/photography/stock/backyard-041006-01.jpg 20D, 100mm f/2.8, 20mm of tube, shoe-mounted flash. Hope you like. -ja...

jumping spider

Jumping spider are among my favorite things to shoot. http://www.digivill.net/~mowse/photography/stock/backyard-033106-1.jpg 20D, Canon 100mm f/2.8, Kenko Pro 300 TC, 12mm ext. A slight breeze and a slow shutter speed didn't help. I got a chance to shoot him with some velvia. We'll see how those cam...

Some butterfly shots

From another visit to the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, WA. On the weekends, it's hard to compete with the crowds. I didn't get as many good shots as I'd have liked. http://www.digivill.net/~mowse/photography/_fauna/slides/032606-1.jpg http://www.digivill.net/~mowse/photography/_fauna/slides/03...
