This guy is less than 25 microns. I caught it with the 30X Water Immersion objective and blew it up digitally. I wish I had been able to use the 100X Oil on it but too late, be a bit difficult to remove the water from the coverslip. Its possible to see the long caudal cirri. Kenv http://www.photomac...

Great shot Ken - I understand many naked amoebas look like this when they are floating as opposed to being on the substrate.

Hi Paul, we had Monarchs in Wellington so that just about covers the North Island, I don't know if they are present in the South Island.

The best B-fly we get here, we have less than six anyway. This was shot last summer, haven't seen one around this year although I have a few chrysalis on the milk weed.
