Here's a damselfly "head shot", and a close image of the eye facets.

The beetle at the bottom was found among blackbery flowers, but no ID.

Beautiful, as always. :D

Any clue what's going on with the beetle's right eye? There are two places where I'd expect to see clear facets, that are uniform gray. Something funny about the lighting or stacking, or are those spots actually missing facets?
