Rotifer "Baby-on-Board"

Post by Charles Krebs »

A while ago I was photographing a very active rotifer and noticed that when it moved it's body (and "innards") in a certain orientation I could very clearly see a large "baby" rotifer complete with eyespots and corona of cilia.

Hi Charles,

that is fantastic. I 've never been able to witness a "pregnant" rotifer myself. Congratulations!
