"I am King"

Post by gunn »

well ... this was what I thought the baby grasshopper was thinking when I took the shot. he's probably too infantile to realise what dangers and trials lie before him in the next couple of days and weeks. his throne (the fruit) was interesting too. it comes from a little plant (2-feet high) the leaves of which are widely used in eastern-cooking (curry). the fruit is just 1cm across.

ap=6.3, shutter 1/500, iso=100, bright sunlight.

kindest regards to all as always

Hi Gunn!

Good eye to see this and grab the shot before he moved on. He reminds Me of Charlie Chaplin playing with a globe.... :)

Great image Gunn. The colors of the hopper and curry fruit compliment each other. Very clean background I notice. I am just starting in Macro and I have been taking notice of everyones work as to their comp and backgrounds. I am learning a lot from you guys. Very nice indeed. :D

Very Nice shot, excellent Comp, focus colour and DOF,

The only thing I would do is clone out the slight green area on the top right.

Another fine macro gunn. Great details and the colours are gorgeous in this one. Love the comp and the perch as well, very nicely done.

All the best gunn, your macro work is rocking IMO. :D

Rather belated congratulations, gunn, on getting onto the front page. This is a stunning shot, and I enjoy it each time I visit the site.

This grasshopper seems to be a baby Valanga nigricornis, the pest of Palm-oil plantations in Malaysia. I get them year-round in my backyard in Jakarta. Nice photo!
