Incident darkfield illumination setup with Leds
this is my self made incident darkfield illumination.
Works well with Objectives up to 10x, working distance should
be greater than about 3mm.
Thanks,
Gerd
What tha..how'd you..well I be! Dang if that ain't something I never seen a set up like that before. I bet that took some time in doing. A ring light for your objectives, imagine that. Way to go Gerd, that's great.

Gerd, this is a great idea! I may have to work on something like this! I've been doing a fair amount of "low mag" stuff since Helicon Focus came out. Sometimes even with fiber optic illuminators it can be tough to get the light in there at the right angle.
Hmm... it would be neat to be able to selectively turn on or off individual LEDs to "model" the light to the subject....
Oh no! Not another project!

Thank you, Ken
if you have a lathe, it takes approximately 20 minutes to produce the plastic carrier
for the leds. An additional nylon screw holds the ring in position without scraping
the microscope objective. The most finical thing is soldering the Leds !
Charlie, please try out switching the leds for different directions, you only need
some more cables and switches, i made something similar formy stereo loupe,
it works well.
