I've never seen one, and it's hard to say from the pictures. Do you think it could be a an objective with a "built in" Lieberkuhn reflector?

could be but i have never managed to get an image from it one interestin bit which you can just make out in the picture is they have what seems to be a small frosted circle in the center of the glass at th end of the objective.

I have asked the people bidding on the one on ebay but they dont know they are just curious and noticed it has a large working distance
thank you

I presume that you have attached this thing to a standard microscope and that light goes through it but all you see is the light, no image.

Will your scope let you get far enough back to place the subject at the stated 12.8mm away from the front of the objective?

Can you perhaps get that far away by holding a subject under the stage?

Getting proper placement may be a bit tricky. If the specs are correct then this will be about a 40X objective. The image will be dim and the depth of field will be very shallow.

I had sort of assumed it was a reflecting objective -- but I really don't know.

wow. when it is what i think it is, it went for ridiculously little money.

The huge working distance makes me think it is (partly) a mirror objective that projects the first image in the air, which is then being looked at with the rest of the objective.
