Tachysoma...I think :-)

Post by Charles Krebs »

Image

The moss samples are starting to show a surprising number of protists now that they have been at room temperature for a few days.

I think this is tachysoma (but as usual, I'm ready to be corrected). Yet another critter where the foot-switch and flash were very helpful.

40X Olympus, 3.3X photo-eyepiece, Canon 10D.

The detail is equisite Charlie. I ran across my first one of these today, but it moved to quickly and stayed in the muck for me to get a single shot.

I am itching to be able to do work like this wonderful image Charlie. I wonder if I will need to get a better objective and I also wonder if, because my objectives are phase, they hinder rather than help on brightfield? Maybe I should get a non phase 20X ?
