Lembadion II, binary fission, nearly complete
Of the three of four Lembadion I found, one specimen had nearly completed reproducing by binary fission. As can be seen they are just barely attached in this photograph.
Olympus 40X, 3.3X photo-eyepiece, Canon 10D. Oblique-brightfield with electronic flash.
I like these guys. They are so transparent and interesting to observe, as the organells of the protist are readily visible.
