While in Hawaii, I snapped a shot of this fly in the woods at Hosmer Grove (Haleakula National Park) He was a small little guy, this shot was taken at about 2x, and I cropped the shot to about 50% the original size. I have no clue yet of his species, not sure I'll be able to ID him precisely.
I wish I'd have been able to get his legs in focus, but this is tolerable, I think. Sorry about the dark background, but it was very heavily shaded. I'm not sure my batteries would have held up long enough to get the background lit up!

Nice vertical Mike. I get the dark background mainly with flash but I've also had it in bright daylight as well. Not something that really worries me much.
Good details and sharpness as with all your shots M8t. So thats an Hawaiian fly huh, sound really small Mike.

Well we've seen a Hawaiian Spider and a Fly. But what about the parlor And neither is wearing a lea? Great image there Mike, really sharp.
