A rattle

The rattle of a pygmy rattlesnake. It's seen a bit of hard use, there's a piece missing from one button. I am conservative about editing thigns out of my photos, but I may have to do away with the piece of dry stick or whatever it is OOF in the background at the center of the right edge.

Reminds me of U2.....Rattle and Hum. I think you will find that this is unique and interesting enough that you don't need to worry about that small stick to be honest. Its fascinating as it is and how often do we get to see shots like this. Wonderful macro Mike.

All the best up yonder M8t, interesting macro for sure. :D

Hi Mike

I did not notice the OOF stick until you mentioned it. My focus was on the rattle. In any case, a minor issue and easy to clone out. I like the light cast of the shadow - Gives it depth. Nice comp and details.

I've looked at this one a few times now Mike. It just gets better and more interesting every time. The scale textures are great as are the details M8t.

So that nobody questions my sanity, I should mention that there was glass in between me and the snake when I took this! :) I was well under a foot away from the snake, wouldn't have DREAMT of being there without glass in the way!
