Back from Washington (state) rain forest. Forest picture

Danny, Michael, and I (Tom) couldn't be happier and more impressed with our members and friends! It would be wonderful if we all got to know each other better. Here's a forum to post images and short autobiographies of ourselves as well as any other info you would like to post about yourself. We are looking forward to meeting you all!

Back from Washington (state) rain forest. Forest picture

This is a shot of one of my favorite parts of the rain forest. These are temperate rain forests. They get about 140 inches of rain a year (mostly late fall, winter and spring), and just about everything is covered with vegetation. Mosses, lichens and ferns are everywhere. The trunks and branches of the broad leaf maples especially get covered with mosses and ferns. It's an amazing place.

You just keep them coming don't you Charlie :D This would be a good place to take my Stemi DV4 since it can be tripod mounted and positoned over the subject. I could really do some close up exploring in a place like this. Absolutely and ecological paradise for all. Beautiful. What else ya got Charlie, lets see em. :D

If I didn't know Charlie, I would say this is a shot of New Zealand rain forest. Absolutely beautiful.

Hi Charlie, The whole Quinault system is one of my favorite places too. Col. Bob wilderness especially. I've gotten lots of good diatoms and similar specimens out of Lake Quinault too...
