Dunkirk diatom

Post by micron »

Image

Came across this small diatom in a strew of Dunkirk fossil diatoms. It produced a rather dramatic phase contrast image using a Plan-Neofluar 25x/0.80 objective.

WOW, Ron :!: :D

I can't imagine how this could be made better. This is one of the best phase images I've seen. :D

Best regards as always, my friend. :D

Thanks Tom - every diatom seems to respond differently to phase - some like this one are quite remarkable, others rather plain.

Kenv I was thinking the same thing - very "Egyptian" looking.
