Coleps feeding frenzy

Post by Charles Krebs »

I've got a jar that is loaded with coleps. On this slide a water flea had a little run in with the cover slip :( ... and the coleps were there in a jiffy.

Olympus 40X, 2.5X photoeyepiece, Canon 10D. Brightfield with electronic flash.

Great action shot with appropriate title. I don't think I have ever seen a Coleps. They seem to be common in your area. Then again I really have just started looking.

Maybe it's a Pacific Northwest in the USA thing. They are fairly common in Oregon, too.
