Post by gpmatthews »

Image

Zeiss GFL Microscope
Objective: Zeiss Plan 1.6/0.03 - 5/0.1
Ocular: Watson x8 compensating
Surface illumination: Projectina 100W tungsten lamp
Camera: Canon Powershot S50
ISO 200, F4.9, 1/100 sec
Combination of 2 b/w images by Helicon F

The images were first changed to b/w and adjusted for b/w points. This removed a little glare. Two images were then combined using Helicon F.

That's pretty! Very 3D. It belongs in next year's calendar.

Some of these people must have had a lot of time on their (very steady) hands in those days . You sure seem to have an assortment of subjects from that era Graham. Very nice!

That is cool ! Where does one find such "antique" prepared slides?

This is just too cool, Graham :!: :D What a nice image you've captured. You have to admire the patience it took to arrange these diatoms. Your image does it good justice. :D

Best regards as always, Graham :!: :D

It is a spectaculair work of micro art. I have been making some arranged radiolaria slides and it is fun to do. Almost like a kind of meditation.

One important advise if you want to make mounted slides like this: don't breath through your nose! :D
