Lyrella lyra in B&W

Post by Gyrosigma »

Hello everybody,
I come back with new images of diatoms wich are my favorite subjects... here is a Lyrella lyra wich is called Navicula lyra in the olds books. It's a marine bentic diatom find in the "méditérannée" this spring.

Great shot! I seem to remember coming across a diatom called Navicula years ago, the name rings a bell.

Beautiful picture, decent resolution and very nice contrast. Is this DIC or oblique illumination?
