The Bdelloidea Rotifers.... practicing miniature soccer ??

Post by Thomas Ashcraft »

June 12, 2006 ( world cup soccer time )

Greetings.

I may have possibly happened upon some Bdelloidea Rotifers practicing some form of miniature soccer. Not sure. . :-k

I posted a couple of short movies at:
http://www.heliotown.com/Rotifer_Soccer.html

In the midst of the incredible photo quality in this forum I must warn you that my equipment consists of a humble Logitech quickcam and an old Spencer Buffalo microscope and I am using a sort of sidelong illumination that the quickcam does not register well. But, what the heck.

Gooooooaaaaaallll! Those are very nice movies Thomas. The "sidelong" illumination is a good effect, and it lights up the "ball" well. Next you can yellow card the second rotifer...
