ciliates are coming in the ponds after algae blooming now. I found this
sessile ciliate for the first time : Thuricola spp.
Thanks for the new image posting guidelines, 800 pixel max are a perfect size.

Beautiful image Gerd! I agree, the new size is perfect. They look better with DIC then with phase contrast. Maybe one of these days I will get lucky and score a DIC setup for my Photomic.

Beautiful image Gerd. :D Don't think I have ever ran across any of these. I need to spend some time behind the eyepieces a bit more. :wink:
