HAPPY 4th OF JULY USA. This Cranefly was hanging out on my cucumber plant. It looks like he is drinking the sap from the vine and I wonder if he is getting green from that . Take a look at the first pic, it looks like his abdomen is shrunken in and the bottom part is filling up with "Bug Juice". I couldn`t get around to the left of the fly to capture more of his feeding because it was early morning and the sun was shining right behind the plant stalk. IMO, I like the way it came out with the backlighting. Early morning Power Drink. Have a safe and Happy 4th (a day off....YEEEESSSSSS)

These are some really good shots Doug. Most of the craneflies around my area are dark brown or gray and don't really make for good photographs. Both are really good but I like the first one the best.
