Acrobatic bumblebee...

Post by twebster »

Hi y'all, :D

Thought I would just take a quick break from working on our new forums...

Image
Bumblebee (Bombus sp.) Canon EOS 20D with Canon EF 300mm f 2.6L IS lens + Canon EF 2x II teleconverter, ISO 400, 1/400 sec @ f 11, Canon 550ex flash set to -1 1/3 compensation for high speed synch fill flash, tripod with IS on.

Blacks are really tough sometimes. I could have added a bit more fill flash but that would have made the shadows on the sunflowers much too light. The full resolution file shows details in the black bumblebee but these are lost with the jpeg compression needed to post on the Internet.

Enjoy, my friends... :D

Hi Tom! Lovely shot, and I'm glad your computer duties aren't keeping you TOTALLY out of the field....Though it is too danged hot to go out and shoot here in Oklahoma anyway! :-(

To danged hot to go out and shoot anywhere I think. :? A great shot Tom, really clean, great color and background, plenty of details. What more could a guy ask for? (Don't answer that! )
