Praying Mantis.
Canon EOS 1D Mark II N + Sigma 150/2.8 + Kenko Extension Tubes.
1/250s f/13.0 at 150.0mm iso50 with Flash
Handheld.
1st Praying Mantis of the year for me. Found him in my backard.

Nice capture Jody. Very crisp. However, the low ISO setting and the fast speed, caused the image to be a bit dark (unless of course that was your intent). I'd up the ISO to 100 or 200 and leave the rest of the settings alone, or maybe use a levels adjustment layer in PhotoShop to brighten the image a titch. Other than that, great shot.

Well Jody, I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. Talk about a mantis "glamour" shot! I think its perfect as it is. We've seen a lot of spectacular mantis shots on here but this one is certainly different. I like it a lot. Supurb work Jody!
