What do most of you do for post processing images? What products do you use and how? Do you capture in RAW or JPEG?

If you capture in RAW, what do youthink about Capture One: http://www.phaseone.com/. I've downloaded the free trial of C1 LE and just wonder what people think of it vs Photoshop's RAW converter (which is pretty powerful -- http://www.radiantvista.com/archive/podcast/10/).

Hello!
Although I know, many people prefer the flexibility of RAW foramts, I nearly always use JPEG.
Wity my (now old) D100, it was absolutely necessary to set it to its highest quality JPEG. There are three settings, "fine", "norm", "basic". This is independent from pixel number, which could be set separately.
I don't know for what the settings "norm" and "basic" are, as their quality is absolutely nothing to be considered in any situation. If one wanted to have smaller files, then it was a better idea to reduce the image size.
But the D100 also had the possibility to store in lossless TIFF, which I miss on the D200 now.
The D200 is much better for JPEG, but not in its factory settings. One must switch to variable file size, instead of variable quality (for constant file size).
Pictures come out good, but you must be careful about any settings that affect colour and contrast. I had to tweek it a bit, and also dial in some Hue adjustment.
Interesting to hear about, what others think.

Steffen
