The lighting here is very special, Jody; like worshipping in a dim gothic cathedral. Great atmosphere. Totally unique, with the light at its most intense around the head, and falling off along the diagonal. Awesome!

What a gorgeous image, Nikola! Bright yellow, and dark background flattering your subject to the fullest. Beauty.

As for the yellow flowers, I think this is Common Tansy (tanacetum vulgare).

Very nice soft greens in the leaves there, Ken, echoing the green in the wings of your bug. Nice composition and lighting.

This spider appeared on my window in the light of the sinking sun a few weeks ago. Can't say anything about ID, unfortunately. It is essentially backlit, but I used a reflector (casserole lid) to get some detail of the underside. The background is bush in total shade. http://www.math.auckland.ac.nz/...
