How the Nikon iTTL flash system used in the R1 & R1C1 wo

How the Nikon iTTL flash system works with Nikon flashes and the macro lights R1 & R1C1:- http://www.imaging-resource.com/ACCS/NIKONCLS/NIKONCLSA.HTM Note:- in this case "wireless" does not mean a radio controlled system, but an optically controlled one that has no wires to the flashes. http://www.d...

Think Paul is correct for the plant your Adonis Blue is on:-

However I think the plant the Holly Blue is on in your Flickr link is probably Common Ragwort.

Ken

Don't know what you are moaning about, you have far more butterflies than we have. You have all these to photograph:-

Not counting dragonflies and damselflies!

The reverse of the wing certainly looks right. Here's a picture of the male:- http://www.butterfly-conservation.org/species/bdata/adonis_blue.html Can't locate such a good picture of the female, the "blues" seem a bit difficult to tell apart. http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/species.php?vernacular_nam...

Nice picture!

Do you know what species it is? It looks very like one of the "blues" we get here in the UK.

Steffen Ruthenium red is all Greek to me, yet alone knowing how to use it. But as nobody had answered your post I put "using ruthenium red" into my search engine and came up with many pages on it's use. Just try both "ruthenium red" and "using ruthenium red" in your computers search engine (I used ...

"Are you willing to divulge technique? How many frames per stack? --Rik" Also how much do you move the focus each frame and how quickly were you able to re-focus and take the shots? Obviously you cannot use the camera's motor to take a series of shots because you could not re-focus in between. Perh...

twebster If you can machine extension blocks for the unit surely you could mount arms on these blocks and get the advantage of the flash arms shown whilst retaining the MT24-EX's ability to rotate the camera in its mount. As long as you can bolt the bits on without modifying the MT24-EX itself you ...

"(spp=meaning many species)" Ken People should be careful not to mix up your spp. (= a number of species) with ssp. (= subspecies). The designation subspecies has now replaced the old infraspecific ranks of variety (= var. ), form (= f. or fma. ) etc in both Botany and Zoology. For instance in the C...

MacroLuv The specific epithet is " cristatella " not " cristata " which presumably indicates it is like or similar to a true cristate. Though looking like a cristate would normally have the epithet " cristatoides " I think, without looking up Stearns Botanical Latin?. Being a cactophile we encounte...
