another individual from the bottom of tideways sample of the North Sea.
Looks like some kind of Loxophyllum ?
Wonderful macronucleus in string of pearls shape.
Objective 20x, DIC, electronic flash.

Fall time, rotifer time.
A rather big rotifer in dark field. The translated German name is
"fringed crown" (Streble/Krauter, Leben im Wassertropfen).
Objective 10x, electronic flash.

we were on holiday at the north sea on beginning of October.
I collected several specimens, especially from the bottom of tideways.
This is a marine nematode, rolled together.
Objective 10x, DIC.

Thanks, Ken, for the comments. Yes, the second bean image contains more botanical information, but i thought, the more artistic view on plant anatomy might be interesting too..... :D I think, the use of these hairs are as follows : as the beans are climbers, they need some additional helpers to fast...
