Interesting images. I especially like the higher mag one showing the flutes, and yes, they look just like an old column from some ancient temple.

Ken, I used some lidocaine throat spray applied to the edge of the coverslip with a polythene pasteur pippette drawn to a fine tip in a spirit burner.
