"But that was because the Army made me do it!" See, that's the funny thing -- people will happily do on their own initiative stuff that would seem completely out of line if somebody else asked or demanded it. In one of my favorite nature photography moments, I realized that I spent almost two hours...

Copper Bottom?
http://www.photomacrography1.net/images/copperhead-bottomW2615.jpg Something I'd never seen before. The belly of a copperhead snake! This is a rather un-natural pose, he is testing the glass limits of his enclosure, but it still was so interesting I wanted to post it! Copperhead 180mm macro 1/200th...

I shoot Canon, and have no desire to change. I based my choice on the broad choice of lenses, and especially on the availability of long lenses with image stabilization (I was really into large mammal shots when I started this). FORTUNATELY, Nikon is still a contender, and they have some excellent a...

To add to the above information on the 70-180 zoom micro nikkor, a history of it's development is on the following web site. The Japanese English is a little quaint in places, but none the less informative:- http://www.nikon.co.jp/main/eng/portfolio/about/history/nikkor/n18_e.htm DaveW I'm one of t...
