Yeah Ryan, have a look below us in this forum at Mikes thread " 28-135 IS in reverse set up & result" That reverse adaptor really works well, REALLY well. Not exactly inexpensive but it is an excellent option for what you want. Also look at extension tubes. What I can tell you is that no way will yo...

Well of course you already know what I have, the FZ10 :D I went through this choice myself about 1 month ago and also considered the D70 along with the new 8 megapixel smaller cams such as the Sony 828, the Nikon 8700, etc. I chose what I needed and wanted. I knew what I needed and the features to g...

Let me try this. One of my best friends and a fantastic macro shooter was killed at home during a home invasion. Mike Ash was an expert at these types of shots and he had many images of insects on fingers. I set up a site when he was killed. www.mikeash.net Follow the galleries and you will see his ...

These programs work slightly different thant just merging which is quite simple to do. I've seen shots from some microscopy sites that combine 10-20 shots easy. Very clever in the way they work the combinations and scaling according to the number of the frame. From what I've seen, also very accurate...

Ya gotta be sneaky Sue, LOL. Very slow movements. Early in the morning is a good time for insects. They tend to be slower and spend more time in one place, early on. I find flies for example real easy in the morning as they sit in the sun thats just coming out. They seem to sun themselves, crazy but...

LOL Sue, you are not alone. David, Ronnie, Terri, Sven, etc are all experts at tripods. Me well to be honest, I only use them for inside shots nowadays. Strange I know :D . Some of us rely heavily on flash and the short burst we get with flash makes it possible for us not to worry about tripods. Som...

Always interesting this one Lin, BTW, great to see you M8t :D Tam Stuart has fine examples as well on a dragonfly. Charles Chein did an interesting version in moving the camera along the length and he also did one in perspective on a fly. I did a page on this after seeing someone claim they were usi...

I'm a step behind on both Ott. Version 7. The reason I'm behind is because I now use and prefer Photoimpact. I use a lot of distortion, perspective, slanting, etc, as well as for normal editing techniques and thats where I find photoimpact rather unique, in speed and use. Just only IMHO and what I p...
