Green Hydra and water flea

Post by Charles Krebs »

Image

I watched this hydra catch and swallow one water flea. (It can be seen in the "bulge") Before the first one was completely swallowed, it had latched onto another water flea. I continued to watch... curious what would happen, but this second water flea either escaped or was released by the hydra.

Charlie's terrific image is going to grace the front cover of www.amateurmicroscopy.net for the month of August. WooHoo! Charlie's metallic beetle image will also grace the front cover of www.photomacrography.net for August, too. Way to go Charlie! :D

Best regards to all as always, :D

Congrats! - excellent images, Charlie.

I've been away for a few days and it was great to come back to the Forum and see these pics.
