I'm thinking about adding another flash with slave on a bracket in addition to the Canon 420 EX I hand hold.I'm looking for a small light-weight one..nothing fancy.Any suggestions?

David, I already replied to your same thread on NPN, but how about a dual flash bracket. There are several types made by a few manufacturers. Novoflex has a couple.

Howdy M8t. Ok two pages for you. First are my favourite built in slave flash units. http://www.srelectronics.com
Next is real small and inexpensive flash units http://www.therollbar.com/flashes.htm
Scroll down to the very btm unit and its a very small sunpak flash with a built in slave. VERY small
I use large handle Sunpak's (potato mashes) with separate slaves. The advantage of the ones above, is that the slaves are built in. Saves having to buy a separate slave M8t.
All the best David and good luck
Danny.

I don't have a 420EX, but a Sigma 550 and MP-T 24EX. However, I have used Sigma 550, with a manual flash with a PC-cord that serves as a fill light for the background. When used as a light for the background (not adding the light on top of where ETTL flash covers), a manual flash can be a cheap substitution to a ETTL master/slave solution. Of course, there is a 1/200 sec. sync. limit on the PC-sync flash on Canon 10D/D60/D30 cameras, but in reality I find 1/250 sec. shutter speed works just fine. I heard that it's 1/500 sec. for a 1D family camera.
Hope this helps.
