Giant Lerp!?!

Post by crocoite »

Lerps are a sap-sucking insect that in particular, infest eucalypt trees. The create a sugar cap that they hide under. These are usually small. This I think is the same substance, but is about 25mm across. Home to a giant lerp?

Thanks Ken

They are usually small green sap-sucking insects.

Perhaps this is caused by a "leaf miner" of some sort? This term describes many different kinds of insects that feed between the layers of a leaf, creating a blister of sorts, rather than a deposit on the surface.
