Water flea (dorsal view)

Post by Charles Krebs »

I put a few water fleas in the "aquarium" slide I had made up for the larger damselfly nymph. In this spacious slide, some would come to rest so that they could be observed "head-on". This is a view that is less common than I usually see on a slide, where the narrow confines of the cover-glass generally forces them into a side-view orientation.

Even at low magnification, this view required 9 images stacked to get the depth wanted. 3X objective, 2.5X photo-eyepiece, Canon 350D.
