Wasp eye

Post by wilash »

Image

After being a just being an observer here for some time, I thought I would post a snapshot I took tonight of a wasp's eye through the eyepiece. Olympus Vanox, episcopic illumination, and DIC with an Olympus 10x MPlan N.

Will... this really gives a beautiful rendition of the eye. Reminds me of the colors in an abalone shell. Roll up your sleeves and lets see some more images!

Thank you for the encouragement, Charles. I am just learning about what my scope can do now. There are still a few things I need to work out. For example, I noticed the digital camera could not capture the colors I saw in the eyepiece, and I am still trying to get used to the flat lighting. But like you said, it just takes work.
