When I was in the Army, the camoflage uniforms we wore didn't work this well! This speckled tree viper looks very much like a clump of moss. He is a pit viper, note the usual infrared-sensing pit on his face.

Oh man, I gotta go get my eyes checked. No, wait, I just did that. I can see the individual pixels on my monitor...why can't I see a face on that snake?

Reminds me a bit of an advertising blurb I recently read, for a book on camouflaged animals. "What does the deer see just before the tiger pounces? Nothing out of the ordinary."

This picture's not going to disturb my sleep at all -- I'm too clueless to be scared of this one. :D

In the left center of the shot, you can see the snake's eye....He's facing left. That may make him more comprehensible!
