A couple of beetles with nice metallic glance

And an alien lifeform, haha. No this is a Lime hawk moth Mimas tiliae that I have found. Also have a shot of it that is not burnt out by the flash.

Hope you like them,

All the best,

I like the first one TomB :D The third would be nice if the flash were not so harsh, you should have posted the one which was not so over exposed. The moth appears not to be to happy either. You may want to try a diffuser of some sort over the flash.

I allready tried building a diffuser with paper, it gives only a really reddish glare in all shots. My boss said he had some spare lenscaps, those white ones you know. He told me I could use them if I liked, so I'm starting on that tomorrow. (still using a compact camera  )

Oh btw, here is that same moth, sitting on Melanie's vinger

Image

I only saw this kind of moth one time before in my life, and that was over 10 years ago. Still like the colour and camo appearance it has. The females also have a pinkish colour mixed in on their wings. And both sexes have three lump-like things on their torso, positioned in a triangle.

Hope you like it,

Comments and advice allways welcome,

This is a much better shot of the moth TomB and you have captured it quite well. It is sharp and shows good detail. :D Tell Melanie thanks for showing us the finger.
